Beginning to feel like Santa

posted by:

I called everyone and ended up with several lists of what this one wants and what that one wants.  I’m beginning to feel like Santa!!  No one wants the same things at all, isn’t that wonderful?  So guess what I’ll be doing this weekend?

My butt is going to be right here at home on the computer looking for this for Mandy and that for Charlie.  I’m not running all over the place trying to find all of these things.  I can sit right here in the comfort of my home and shop till I drop.  It’s a lot easier to do that at home.  Besides, there are a lot of bargains to be found right here that you can’t find in the store.  That’s what I love about shopping online too.

Time for some serious shopping!!

I got my Christmas bonus last Friday and have half of the day off today.  I had a doctors appointment and just took the afternoon off.  Now it’s time for some serious shopping.  Nothing makes me feel better than to go shopping.  Besides, I have a bunch of nieces and nephews to buy for.

I think I’ll get all the girls the same thing and all the boys the same thing and that way, there won’t be any of this, ‘I like what you got better’ crap.  For the girls, I got each of them a gold necklace with a heart pendant on it.  They’re all 12 to 17 years old so jewelry is always a good gift for the girls.

Now the boys are a different story.  They range in ages from 6 to 18.  It’s kind of hard to get them totally the same thing so I’ll have to be a bit creative.  Plus I don’t want anyone to think I spent more on one than the other.  The girls necklaces weren’t cheap since I got them good necklaces and not those thin ones that break really easy.

I might get the little boys each a Leapster.  Those things are great.  They are playing a game but learning at the same time.  For the bigger boys, I’m thinking about getting them a PSP each.  They cost the same as the girls necklaces and I sure hope one of the girls doesn’t come up with ‘But I wanted one of those.’  You can’t win for losing sometimes.  Maybe I need to ask their parents before I buy anything, ya think?

Talked with my boss

Well I spoke with my boss about the possibility of going to school to get a degree in paralegal and they’re all for it.  They did say they would pay for it and still keep me on in my current position.  I’ll also have all the help I could possibly need right here.  Not too bad of a deal, huh?

They even suggested a college that offers online courses that I can even work on here at work.  How about that?  I’ll get paid while taking a class or two as long as I’m still doing my work here, it won’t be a problem.  They’re handling my divorce for free and I guess they feel sorry for me.  Since my husband is the one that left, I get the house and since it’s paid for, they’re trying to get it free and clear for me since he made a lot more money than I did and ‘abandoned’ me.  They’re good lawyers and my husband feels like a jerk so I bet I’ll get it.  I’ll keep you posted.

Maybe you need to know a little more

Okay, I met my ex-husband in high school.  He was the captain of the football team and an all around athlete.  I was just a normal girl that thought he was the cutest guy on campus.  He went away to college and I went to a local community college.  Of course we kept in touch and saw each other every time he came home.  I took classes to be a secretary and he got his engineering degree.  When he graduated, we got married.

We had a good life together.  He made good money and worked away from home a lot.  I had everything I wanted.  All I had to do was say I liked something and he would come home with it.  Yeah, he spoiled me rotten.  I have gotten used to that too.  Now that I’m on my own, I still want things only now I have to get them for myself.

I’m thinking about going back to school but I don’t know what for yet.  I have worked in a law office for 5 years so I just might get my degree in paralegal.  Who knows, I might go on and just get my law degree.  I don’t know but I do if I go for my degree in paralegal, the lawyers in the office will pay for it.  I think that’s where I’ll start and take it from there.  They make good money too.  That way, I can have the things I want, hopefully.

Hello world!

Hello world, I’m Katie Cole.  Katelyn if we’re meeting for the first time.  Only my best friends and family call me Katie.  Well let’s see, I thought I had it all.  I work in a nice office as a receptionist.  I had a loving husband that was more like a best friend.  He was a great cook, took care of a lot of things around the house like cleaning, the laundry and was great at picking out clothes for me.

I just can’t figure out why I couldn’t figure it out.  It’s not like he acted gay or anything.  He’s a very sweet and loving man but we didn’t have much of an intimate relationship.  That should have told me something.  He left me for another man.  Now I can almost laugh about it but it still hurts.

So I’m on my own now.  I like the finer things in life and I will have them no matter what.  Anyway, I do hope you stop by and check me out again.  Who knows, I just might find the deal you’ve been looking for.
