No Raises – No Bonuses
The boss sent out an email today saying that there is a company-wide hiring freeze. He also says that until our sales and revenue numbers go up, there will be no raises or bonuses.
That really sucks, because I was promised a big raise this year and that is part of the reason that I took this job instead of a different one. I was counting on the raise to make my salary competitive and give me the things I need at home. I don’t know if things will even turn around this year at all. Obama hasn’t done much of anything yet and I’m sick of not having any money.
School starts next week
The summer is about over. It will probably stay hot for another month, but traffic will start being heavier in the mornings because school starts up next week. The school buses and all the teachers and parents who get out on the roads in the mornings make my drive to work take another 10-15 minutes each morning. So I have to start getting up a little earlier and leaving early so I’m not late.
