Neighbors husband died suddenly

posted by:

My neighbor two doors down has 5 children and a beautiful home.  I just heard that her husband died suddenly of a heart attack and she didn’t even know there was a problem with his heart.  I hope and pray for her sake that they had mortgage life insurance on their home.  A lot of people don’t think of that type of life insurance.  If they didn’t have it, she’ll possibly lose everything.

One things my grandmother told me when I bought my home was to make sure I insure my mortgage so that should I have children, they will not have to leave the only home they have ever known and lose not just a parent, but their home as well.  We are only promised the here and now and just like this woman’s husband, you can be here one minute and gone the next.  The best you can hope for in a situation like that is that you have enough coverage to protect your family home.

Happy Anniversary to my grandparents

posted by:

Well today is my grandparents 54th wedding anniversary.  That’s a long time to be married to one person but unfortunately, their generation is just about the last generation to see their first and only marriage last.  I too am in the process of getting a divorce but because my husband left me.  I just wish he would have been able to admit to himself that he was gay before we got married.  It sure would have been a lot easier on both of us.

I have absolutely nothing against gay people.  In fact, I think they should have the right to some type of ‘union’ just as straight people do.  In fact, I have seen some gay relationships last longer than straight relationships tend to and with that in mind, they should have some of the same rights that married people have.  It doesn’t have to be called a marriage if that word bothers people that believe two men or two women can’t marry.  Like I said earlier in this post, they should be able to have a ‘union’ if that word suits straight people better.  But that is my opinion and it’s a shame it’s not the opinion of more people.

I need some home improvements

posted by:

I don’t know about you but I just get sick and tired of everything staying the same.  I have to move around my furniture at least once every two or three months but I’ve moved it and moved it and now it’s time for some home improvement.  One of the easiest ways to change a room, and most inexpensive ways too I might add, is by replacing old light fixtures with new ones.  It’s amazing what that will do to a room.

In my kitchen, I added some of the under the cabinet lights and was amazed at how inviting and how warm it made my kitchen.  I also replaced the old ugly light fixture over my dining room table too.  Now I feel like I’m dining in style.

Dental Records

posted by:

How do the police get the infamous dental records when they have to identify people? Are dentists required by law to forward all their records to some central tracking system? This freaks me out and I wonder if I have the right to tell the dentist that I don’t want any more x-rays taken or don’t want my records sent away. This really is an invasion of privacy and makes me wonder what other records are being sent out without my knowledge or permission?

Where IS George?

posted by:

When the clerk at Food Lion gave me change from my twenty, I found a Where’s George bill. I never seem to remember how to log in my “account” on that site, but when I find the bills every once in a while, I do put them in for tracking.

This bill said:

This bill has traveled 116 Miles in 2 Yrs, 188 Days, 10 Hrs, 6 Minutes at an average of 0.13 Miles per day. It is now 116 Miles from its starting location.

The initial entry read this: My name is Isabella and I am four. My daddy is going to use this bill to buy gas on his way to work tomorrow.

Although it is cute to think that a four year old has a “Where’s George” account on the internet, I doubt this little girl has a clue as to what it is all about. I think adults who make accounts for their kids or pets and then write as if they were the kid or the pet – those people are just weird.
