This time of year I really love going to the holiday trade and craft shows. There is a particular one that I enjoy going to that not only has things for sale, but also has a lot of things simply on display – there is a model train enthusiast club that puts on a huge display of a model train that runs around a large area of the armory. And there is also a doll house enthusiast club that has another section of the armory where the members have their doll houses on display. Going through these sections give me a feeling of going through a magical whimsical place, and I enjoy just spending time there.
The train enthusiast club makes a huge effort to look professional and to stand out from the crowd by setting up under a large logo canopy and they have their own section of trade show flooring that their tables are set up on so you have a very distinctive reality of being apart from the rest of the show.
The dollhouse club has their section distinctively sectioned off with velvet ropes and trade show carpet to give the viewers guidance as to where they are supposed to walk and not walk. They even have logo mats with the names of the individual doll house owner on the floor in front of the individual display. The entire fair has a great feeling of professionalism to it that I usually don’t see at other fairs.
