Talking with my girlfriend, Rachel, tonight and she was exhausted from all the stress and extra activity from today being the first day of school for her kids.
I find it really strange that some school systems in the U.S. start their school year as early as July, with many started sometime in August, and then what I believe is the majority of students report on the day after Labor Day. I don’t think anyone starts later than that. But I don’t understand why they don’t all start on the same date?
We have a new guy in charge of the county’s public education and he is making some weird proposals. I wonder if they knew he had all these plans when they interviewed him and decided to hire him?
For example, he wants to make the school year longer by 2 weeks. He says the kids need more instructional time to meet the new higher educational standards. I say bull shit – they spend enough time in school as it is.
Although I feel sad that we are celebrating the death of someone, this man was pure evil and caused the deaths of thousands of innocent people. President Obama just announced that Osama Bin Laden has been killed by the U. S. Military and that his body is in the possession of the U. S.
I congratulate our military for not giving up – it has been ten long frustrating years. I hope that they find the rest of the evil people responsible and put an end to this war very soon.
The threatened Government shutdow has been averted. The congressional leaders and our pitifully inept President came to an agreement late Saturday night with a midnight deadline.
What a bunch of drama queens! This whole scenario just sickens me. They should have had this budget worked out and approved LAST OCTOBER! OMG these people we sent to Washington are a bunch of idiots. I am SO SICK OF POLITICS!
For the past several weeks our Congress has done little to get the federal budget approved. So, due to the incompetence of our Congress, the government might have to shut down today. Everyone who is not working an essential services job will be sent home and not paid until Congress can fix this mess.
What I do not think is fair about this is that Congress will still get paid -even though it is their fault this is happening. And our soldiers will not get paid. All of our soldiers who are overseas, risking their lives to defend freedom are evidently considered non essential services and will not get paid, although they cannot just walk off the job and go home, either.
I do not agree with this. This is morally wrong.
