One of the things that I struggle with on almost a daily basis is how to stay nice to people who keep asking you the same question repeatedly after you have answered the question. That probably means that I shouldn’t ever try to get a career caring for senior citizens, doesn’t it?

Today I ran into some people that I had met a couple of months ago at a business meeting, and they recognized me, and although I tried to avoid them it was impossible to do so. I ended up sitting next to them at a presentation. They kept asking me questions that I could not answer, and I was having a hard time staying nice to them. After all, how many times do I have to say “I don’t know” to the same question? I wonder if my intolerence is based in my own fear that some day I will be an old imbecile myself. I hate to think that will happen any time soon, and I hope that if and when it happens that other people will be more tolerent of me than I feel that I have been. I feel guilty about that.

When I was sitting down this afternoon to eat my late lunch of peanut butter and honey sandwich and a glass of water (yes, I really am trying to save money) I noticed that my son was watching an episode of “House” on television. I was only there for a couple of minutes, but I watched it while I was there. I learned something very interesting in that couple of minutes; sorbital is used as an artificial sweetener in sugar-free products, such as gum. It is also used by the medical profession as a laxative! Now that I know that, I will keep that in mind the next time I am having stomach troubles!

This morning I went to a business networking meeting in town at the local IHOP. There are a lot of different businesses that send a representative to the meetings, and it is always interesting to go and see who shows up and what they have to say. One of the ladies that always shows up is an employee of a dermatologist in town. She always talks about dry skin, wrinkles, and Acne. She always brings a book or two with her and says that her bosses are the authors of the book. The way that she talks about the products that they sell, it sounds to me as if they are selling something very similar to the Resurgence skin care product that my sister recently purchased with the Murad Coupon Codes that she found on the Internet.

They all sound like fine products, and I’m very curious to see how much my sister likes the Resurgence once it arrives. We’re both of the age where we are interested in minimizing the wrinkles that are starting to appear on our faces. A lot of people tell me that I look younger than I really am, but I think that they are just being kind. Skin care is near the top of my priority list this year, time is marching on too fast!

Have you been hearing the news stories about how several orange juice companies have been reporting a fungicide being found in some of their orange juice that came from Brazil? What I’ve been hearing is that small amounts of the stuff has been found, and that the amounts are supposedly within the safe amount allowed, but the juice is being recalled just the same. Apparently tha amount of fungicide that has been found is allowed in other countries, but not in the United States of America.

When I hear about how some things are allowed in other countries but not in the USA, I have to wonder why the other countries are allowing it. Were the officials bribed, or do they just not care?

For several years, I’ve been wearing compression socks to ease the pain and aching in my legs caused by varicose veins. The first pair of socks that I wore were actually a pair of pantyhose and they were given to me by my mother, when I was pregnant and my legs were in agony. I thought they were wonderful!

After I had given birth, I wanted to buy a pair of pantyhose that were not maternity and that was when I ran into an obstacle – I could not find them for sale in the local stores anywhere. When I went into the local pharmacy to ask about them they told me that they were a special order item, and the brand that I had used in the past was not something they could order. They only carried the Jobst brand, so I went ahead and ordered them. Since then I’ve learned that there are several brands on the market, but Jobst is the brand that my doctors always recommend.

I don’t understand why my feet are always cold; seems as if the only time my feet are warm is the month of July!

The thermostat is set to seventy, I am wearing two pairs of socks and have two blankets over my legs and feet, but my toes are as cold as ice! I know there is a saying “cold hands, warm heart.” Is there a similar saying that applies to feet?

I wonder if when and how someone will invent a domestic use climate control gadget that will equalize humidity and barometric pressure automatically. Have you noticed on cold and wet days that even when you have the heat turned on inside the house that the house still feels quite cool and damp? Many people that suffer from arthritis are bothered by the barometric pressure. Wouldn’t it be awesome if we could control the barometric pressure inside our house just as easily as setting the temperature on a thermostat?

One of the things that I’ve noticed lately is that there are a few age spots that have suddenly appeared on my arms. I was rather surprised to notice them, and I wondered if there were any skin care products that I should have been using to prevent them from happening. I know that there are products on the market that are supposed to fade them, or conceal them, but I haven not heard of any products on the market to prevent them. I’ve heard conflicting stories about them being prevented as a youngster by using sunscreen when going outside. But when I was a kid, no one I knew had even heard of sun screen! We were all trying to get deeper tans by using baby oil tinted with iodine!

There was a time when my only skin care worries were which acne products would work best on combination skin! I never DID find one that I liked as a teenager! Now, as I get older I find that I still have those combination skin worries, and wrinkles and age spots too! What a life!

After the holidays are over I think I’ll sign up for a session. I’d like to sign up earlier, but to be realistic I think that I am going to be too busy between now and the first of the year to be able to go to them, and I don’t want to make a financial commitment and then not go. Money is too tight right now for me to take that on!

Over the past several years I’ve been getting mixed messages about whether one should use restroom hand dryers or not. On the one hand, (pun not intended) using the hand dryers is supposed to be good for the environment because it reduces the amount of paper towels being used, thereby reducing the amount of chemicals needed to produce the paper towels, which reduces the amount of toxins released into the environment.

But on the other hand, using commercial hand dryers uses electricity, and electricity is produced by burning coal, gas, oil, hydro, and other methods that also pollute the environment. I’ve never really heard any clear cut break down as to whether it is really better for the environment one way or the other. But I have heard some health experts suggest that using the air hand dryers in restrooms is not healthy because the bacteria on a dirty restroom floor gets sucked up into the dryer and then blown onto your hands. Largely because of that report that I’ve heard, I prefer to use paper towels, but I also like to use the paper towels to turn the door knob to exit the restroom.
