When money is tight!!

I know of a lot of people that have had to take jobs with less pay than they received before they were laid off just to have something coming in, something to hopefully survive with until something better comes along. Unfortunately, with cooler weather coming in now, a lot of people are in need of help with heating costs. Saving money is a must too now. If you’re lucky enough to set things up so your expenses aren’t as high, then you’re one of the lucky ones and these guys just might be able to help you learn how to do just that.

Still other people need help with payday loans to make it through the month. Luckily there are a lot of options with payday loans now too. I can’t think of anyone that hasn’t needed help from time to time when an unexpected expense arises. We all have them unfortunately. Then there are the holidays coming and a lot quicker than a lot of us would like. There are a lot of cheap presents you can find that will not only make others happy, but help you to spread the Christmas cheer in your home. Nothing makes most people feel better than seeing someone happy with what you have purchased for them but it doesn’t have to be expensive. Don’t forget that.

Halloween will be here soon

Halloween is a favorite holiday for a lot of people. They decorate their homes, their yards and anything else they can get their hands on. Sure it’s cute and fun to try and make your home spooky so kids will enjoy it but this is a bit much if you ask me. Well it might be a bit much but it sure is cute!!!

I bet this is one of those pictures where the kid will be very angry at their parents if they ever show anyone this picture once they get grown!!! I sure would be!

Everyone’s thinking about summer vacation

Now that it’s July, if people haven’t made their summer vacation plans, they sure are thinking about it now. One thing that could be stopping them from making those plans could be credit card debt or other debt. There are a lot of people in need of debt consolidation right now and just don’t know who to turn to or who to trust. That’s the hardest part, who to trust with so many of them out there now. Well a dear friend of mine used Consolidatedcredit.org and was thoroughly pleased with them. They not only offer debt consolidation but they also offer services like debt management and help with credit card debt too.

One of the things that really impressed me about them is the fact that they offer family vacation budgeting which is through their debt learning center. You would be surprised just how many people have no idea of how to plan for a family vacation by budgeting their money. I personally have a plastic coffee can that I put all of my change in every day and when it’s about vacation time, I get it all out, roll it up and that determines how good of a vacation I’ll have. Not totally but it can mean the difference between staying at my grandmothers at the beach or renting a motel room somewhere else.

Time to start thinking about vacation

It’s the time of year when everyone starts thinking about their summer vacation. But here’s something I found every interesting. Did you know that in Europe, workers are given far more paid vacation time than we are here? I have a close friend that now lives in England and he was telling me that they get about 4 weeks per year to take whenever they want to go on ‘holiday’ as they call it there. Here, we have to usually work a full year before we are given just one week of paid vacation a year. In fact, you have to work about 5 years or more to earn 4 weeks of vacation time. Why is this? Are they more valued in England than we are here in the US? They are happier workers that’s for sure because of the time they get off. I think it’s time we worked to ‘Save our Summer Vacation‘ . There is a movement by petitioning Congress to proclaim August 7 as a “National Vacation Day.” Get your friends and family to sign the petition NOW so that we can hopefully have this day passed in Congress!

My dream vacation has always been to go Ireland. I guess it’s because of my Irish roots. In fact, I am mostly Scotch-Irish and long to see the rolling emerald colored hills. I have sat and looked at every picture I could find of Ireland and find it to be an absolutely fascinating and beautiful country. When ‘Riverdance’ came out, I was absolutely mesmerized watching them do the Irish jig. Perfect unison and absolutely breath taking to watch. I must admit that I have checked out HomeAway Vacation Rentals to see how much it would take for me to take that dream vacation. I have my special ‘vacation’ fund set up so that I can take that vacation as soon as possible. It’s not nearly as expensive as I thought it would be thanks to HomeAway. Maybe you could find your perfect vacation spot and they’ll find most everything else you need to make that dream come true for you too.

I think I’ll go to Myrtle Beach this weekend

We have always gone to Holden Beach since my grandparents lived there but this year, I’m checking into some Myrtle Beach Resorts. Since the economy has gotten so bad, you can find some great prices on motels and even at restaurants down there. A lot of people are staying closer to home because of gas climbing again and a lot have lost their jobs. I’m lucky because I still have my job and just thought I would treat myself to a nice weekend at a Myrtle Beach Resort.

Myrtle Beach has long been the beach to go to from all over the place. You find people from as far north as Canada and as far south as Georgia there. Part of the reason is the really nice Myrtle Beach Hotels. There are some right on the beach with jacuzzi tubs and all the bells and whistles or even some that aren’t right on the beach. Either way, the accommodations and entertainment that you find at Myrtle Beach is great.

Mothers Day was great for all of us. My grandmother even came up from the beach so we could all celebrate the mothers in our family. Mothers Day is sort of like a major holiday around our house mostly because my grandmother is the rock that we all lean on and try so hard to follow in her footsteps. No I don’t have children but one things for sure, I have the perfect example of what a mother truly is in my grandmother. Oh sure my mother is a good Mom but Grandma has always been special to not only me but everyone in the family. I hope you have an example like her to follow. I’m just not sure I’ll ever come close to filling her shoes but I’m sure going to try.

It’s Christmas eve and all the kids are so excited that their parents are ready to give them away as Christmas presents to anyone that will take them. I remember that excitement. Christmas was so much fun when you’re a kid. It still is now but the fat mad quit bringing me stuff a long time ago. I gotta find me a fat man!!!

Christmas is far more than what presents you get. It’s all about the family, the kids, the love and the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. That’s the true reason for the season. Somehow Jesus got left out of Christmas but not at our house. Tomorrow is the day we’re supposed to be celebrating His birth. So just so I don’t forget to say it, Happy Birthday Jesus.

I hope that your world is peaceful. I hope your home is full of love. I hope your Christmas is full of blessings.

We all are going in together for Grandma

Well we figured out what to get Grandma. She needs a new dishwasher. The only problem is she has a small one now that doesnt work half the time and wants a big one. We’re all chipping in to get her a big one an when that is put in, the cabinets will have to be redone too. So I guess you could say we’re all going in together to get her a new kitchen. Well part of it anyway. She’s going to be so mad at all of us but it’s not the first time and won’t be the last!!

My grandparents

I’m lucky enough to still have my grandparents on my fathers side anyway. I do still have my grandmother on my mothers side. THEY ARE HARD TO BUY FOR!!!! My maternal grandmother isn’t as hard to buy for. She just wants clothes and will wear anything and I literally mean ANYTHING. She isn’t much for making sure things match either.

My other grandmother, she wants things just so!!!! She’s like me and likes the finer things in life. Give her a kitchen gadget and she’s happy too but I want to get her something different this year. What do you get for someone that has everything but means everything to you? That’s a good question huh?

Girls are harder to shop for

Boys are easy, girls on the other hand, they had the longest lists and the most expensive things on their lists too. Go figure, right? I should have expected that because that’s the way I am too.

Heather wants a gold necklace with a heart on it. Imagine that, that’s what I was going to get her to begin with. Dawn wants a ring. She doesn’t care what is on it, she just wants a ring so I thought about getting her a birthstone ring. Her birthday is in June. I’m not sure what stone that is but I’ll find out. She has such small hands that it’s going to be hard to get the right size.

Amanda wants an MP3 player. That’s about the easiest gift on any one’s list. Carley wants a PSP. Go figure. She would have had a cow if I had gotten the boys one and not her. Then there’s Nicole. She wants money, just money and lots of it. So she’s getting a Visa gift card for some money but not lots of it.

The main problem with the girls is I’ll have to go to a jewelry store for some of the things but with the others, I found them online and they’re on their way here as we speak. With that, that takes care of all my nieces and nephews.
