Women

I thought this was so cute that I just had to share it with you.  Sounds like something a woman would do, don’t you think??

The doctor, after an examination, sighed and said, ‘I’ve got some bad news. You have cancer, and you’d best put your affairs in order.’ The woman was shocked, but managed to compose herself and walk into the waiting room where her daughter had been waiting.

‘Well, daughter, we women celebrate when things are good, and we celebrate when things don’t go so well. In this case, things aren’t well. I have cancer. So, let’s head to the club and have a martini.’  After 3 or 4 martinis, the two were feeling a little less somber. There were some laughs and more martinis.

They were eventually approached by some of the woman’s old friends, who were curious as to what the two were celebrating. The woman told her friends they were drinking to her impending end, ‘I’ve been diagnosed with AIDS. ‘ The friends were aghast, gave the woman their condolences and beat a hasty retreat.

After the friends left, the woman’s daughter leaned over and whispered, ‘Momma, I thought you said you were dying of cancer, and you just told your friends you were dying of AIDS! Why did you do that?’

‘Because I don’t want any of those bitches sleeping with your father after I’m gone.’

And THAT, my friends, is what is called, ‘Putting Your Affairs In Order.’

50th anniversary present

posted by:

I have an Aunt and Uncle that are renewing their vows since they didn’t have a real church wedding all of those years ago.  I think it’s wonderful since they are doing this for their 50th wedding anniversary.  I have been thinking of something to get my Aunt and Uncle for a wedding present.

Since they are going on a cruise for a second honeymoon and we are not invited, I thought a new camera would be a great wedding gift.   I have decided on a Canon EOS 30D.  It has 8.2 mega-pixels CMOS sensor and DIGIC II Image Processor.  It even has a 2.5 inch LCD Monitor so you can see what you are taking a picture of without having to put the camera up to your eye.  At least if I get them one of those, everyone will get to see all we missed since we are being left home.

What was the point?

Well it seems that David Letterman and his girlfriend of 23 years finally got married.  My question at this point is “What’s the point?”  They have been together for 23 years and all was fine, they have a 5 year old son so why get married now?  I guess the time was finally right maybe.  Who knows?

David Letterman, host of the late night American television show Late Show with David Letterman, has married his girlfriend of 23 years, he told studio audience during a taping of his show on Monday.

Letterman, 61, announced he and Regina Lasko, with whom he has a five-year son, were wed in a courthouse ceremony in Choteau in Teton County, Montana last week, near the ranch they own together.

“They say, ‘Well, why did it take you so long to get married?’ and, of course, the answer honestly is we wanted to make sure we had the prenup just right,” Letterman joked. Letterman and Lasko began their relationship in 1986. Their son, Harry, was present for the ceremony. The late night talk show host previously swore off marriage after his 1977 divorce with Michelle Cook.

“I secretly felt that men who were married admired me … like I was the last of the real gunslingers,” Letterman said during his Monday show, where he made the announcement shortly after congratulating Bruce Willis for getting married last week.

Letterman told the audience he nearly missed the ceremony because his truck became stuck in mud two miles from their house. The ceremony was delayed one hour while Letterman walked back in 50 mile per hour winds to get his car. “And the whole way, I’m thinking, ‘See … you try to get married and this is what happens,’” he said.

I do wish him and his new wife the best of luck.  They have practiced long enough that it should work or at least you would think it would work out.  The funny thing is that sometimes when people live together for years like that and then get married, it all seems to fall apart for some reason.  I hope that doesn’t happen with them.

Boy that was quick!!

Where did January go?  I sure hope the rest of this year doesn’t go by as quickly as January did.  I swear it seems like it was just New Years a couple days ago.  One good thing, so far my idiot of an ex-husband or soon to be ex hasn’t called me anymore.  I really thought he would call work but he hasn’t as far as I know.

I thought he might have more sense than to do that but you never know with an idiot.  I have absolutely nothing against anyone being a lesbian or gay but why couldn’t he have figured that out before we got married, you know?  What was I to him, an experiment to see if he could be straight?  I guess the experiment didn’t work.  Oh well, such is life.

Talked with my boss

Well I spoke with my boss about the possibility of going to school to get a degree in paralegal and they’re all for it.  They did say they would pay for it and still keep me on in my current position.  I’ll also have all the help I could possibly need right here.  Not too bad of a deal, huh?

They even suggested a college that offers online courses that I can even work on here at work.  How about that?  I’ll get paid while taking a class or two as long as I’m still doing my work here, it won’t be a problem.  They’re handling my divorce for free and I guess they feel sorry for me.  Since my husband is the one that left, I get the house and since it’s paid for, they’re trying to get it free and clear for me since he made a lot more money than I did and ‘abandoned’ me.  They’re good lawyers and my husband feels like a jerk so I bet I’ll get it.  I’ll keep you posted.
